The Left Fibbo
As a left-handed person there is always the problem, with an ink or
filler pen you smear everything freshly written. You pull the ink over the paper with the side of your hand. In elementary school, it is still
mandatory to develop your motor skills for writing with a fountain pen, so I decided to develop a handrest. The support on the handrest
instead of directly on the paper prevents lubrication. Thanks to the
support on the Leftibbo, the hand glides exactly over the paper with a
2 mm height, the hand floats over the paper without losing the writing feeling. Various products and shapes were tried in the form search. From ring, ball, to a plate. With a flat support on a plate you can reach
a coverage of as many different hand shapes as possible. In order to provide the best possible ergonomic surface with maximum comfort of freedom of movement, the Fibonacci sequence has been integrated into the design.
A dark wood such as ash allows the static hold. A foam mat is placed
on top to allow a slight lowering of the hand. The mat is covered with
a fabric in the area of the side hand to create more depression. In the front area of the fingers it needs more stability. In this area, the foam mat is equipped with woven rush grass.
